Black Day observed in remembrance of Quetta martyred lawyers

All segment of society including lawyers, different political parties and civil society members observed black day at the occasion of 2nd anniversary of martyred lawyers in Quetta suicide attack on August 8, 2016 across province.

The Balochistan Bar Council as well as other lawyers' associations have boycotted today's proceedings in morning, while black flags have also been hoisted at court building across the province in memory of the martyrs.

Balochistan High Court Bar Association and Balochistan Bar Council organized condolence references at Balochistan High Court for the departed souls of lawyers which was attended by Balochistan High Court Chief Justice Noor Muhammad Meskenzai, High Court's Judges, lawyers communities and various leaders of political parties.

Talking to APP, newly elected member of provincial assembly (MPA) Malik Sikandar Khan Advocate said the nation could never forget its martyrs, including lawyers and personnel of security forces, who lost their lives in deadly civil hospital blast on August 8, 2016.

He said such cowardly attack would not weak the moral of nations including lawyers and security forces, saying that collective efforts needed to eradicate terrorism from country and province.

He also expressed solidarity with the families of the martyred lawyers on the occasion of 2nd anniversary.

According report, black day was observed in respective districts of Balochistan including Dera Murad Jamali, Jaffarabad, Sibi, Mastung, Nushki, Chaman, Khuzdar, Chaghi, and other areas in remembrance of the gruesome incident of August 8, 2016 in which over 70 people mostly lawyers were martyred.
