Briefing On The Current Status Of K-IV Project

Director General, National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Karachi, Brig. (Retd.) Farooq Naser Awan on Wednesday chaired a briefing to identify and to address the bottlenecks involved in the in-time completion of Greater Karachi Bulk Water Supply Scheme K-IV, at the NAB Karachi office
Managing Director, Karachi Water and Sewerage board (KW&SB), Asadullah Khan, Project Director K-IV Asad Zamin and other concerned were also present on the occasion, said a statement on Wednesday.
The participants were held deliberations on different aspects of the project.
It was informed that the capacity of K-IV project under completion has been increased from 260 MGD to 650 MGD to overcome the existing shortfall of 573 MGD and future requirements with slight changes in the alignment of the same.
Its revised PC-1 is under review of 3rd party consultant NESPAK.
The DG of NAB Karachi expressed concern over the delays and asked the authorities to overcome the bottlenecks as soon as possible to ensure the execution of the mega project to address the issue of water shortage Karachi city in the shortest period of time.
He assured that his office will provide every possible assistant to speed up the progress of the project as it involves stake of whole Karachi.
