British Airline to restore its operation from June 2019: Abdul Razak Dawood

The Adviser of Prime Minister on Commerce, Textile Industry and Investment Abdul Razak Dawood Tuesday said that the British Airline has decided to restore its operations for Pakistan by June 2019, he welcomed the initiative of the airline and said that it would pave way for other airlines to start their operations in Pakistan.

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Dec, 2018 ) :The Adviser of Prime Minister on Commerce, Textile Industry and Investment Abdul Razak Dawood Tuesday said that the British Airline has decided to restore its operations for Pakistan by June 2019, he welcomed the initiative of the airline and said that it would pave way for other airlines to start their operations in Pakistan.

"I welcome the British Airways back to Pakistan, which would play role in portraying the better image of the country and to generate more economic and investment opportunities, he said this while addressing a press conference along with British Acting High Commissioner to Pakistan, Thomas Drew CMG and head of sales for Asia Pacific and the middle East, Robert Williams at launching of British Airways here.

He said the British Airways was one of the leading airlines of the world and it was a big news for Pakistan, now we have more facilities for air journey to British.

The adviser said that Pakistan has historic, diplomatic, trade and cultural relations with UK and both the countries have more trade and investment potential to increase in future.

Razak Dawood said that both of the countries have economic ties since the independence of Pakistan and British was second largest trading partner of Pakistan.

He said the government was now expecting more investment and trade with British and open new avenues in multifarious relations between both the countries.

He said that UK was important investment destination for the world as well to the Pakistan.

"We have evolved comprehensive strategy for initiating the negotiation for increasing economic and trade relations with Briton in future", he said.

The Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development Zulfi Bukhari said that after the operation of British Airways to Pakistan would consider the safe and secure place for foreign investment. He said that now the British Airways operation would provide global connectivity to the Pakistan for linking with big economies of the world.

British Acting High Commissioner to Pakistan, Thomas Drew CMG, said, "I am delighted to be welcoming British Airways back to Pakistan and the launch of direct flights by British Airways between London, Heathrow and Islamabad is excellent news for both the countries".

The link between Britain and Pakistan are already extraordinary from culture, cricket, people to people, politics and education. "I see this launch as vote of confidence in the future of those links and a reflection of the great improvement in the security situation in Pakistan in recent years.

Head of sales of British Airways for Asia Pacific and the Middle East, Robert Williams said on the occasion, "It is exciting to be flying between Islamabad and Heathrow from next year, which believe will be particularly popular with the British Pakistani Community".
