Buzdar's Fountainhead Of Power In Punjab: Fayaz Chohan
Punjab Information and Culture Minister Fayaz ul Hassan Chohan on Saturday said Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Khan Buzdar was the only constitutional and legal fountainhead of power in the province.
There should be no ambiguity in that regard that the Punjab chief minister was the most powerful person in the province as he was elected by all the members of provincial assembly (MPAs) belonging to the Pakistan Tehreek-e- Insaaf (PTI) and allies, he said talking to newsmen.
The minister said prior to his nomination by Prime Minister Imran Khan, no body had any clue that Sardar Usman Buzdar would be the next chief minister of the province. All the MPAs and ministers accepted him as the chief executive of the province, he added.
To a question, he said Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar, Senior Minister Abdul Aleem Khan and Punjab Assembly Speaker Chaudhry Pervaiz Ilahi had their powers and nobody challenged their respective authority.
To another query, Chohan said different dramatic episodes had taken place during the 10-year rule of so-called 'Khadim-e-Aala' of Punjab Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, who, he alleged, just performed different acts of jugglery, including throwing of microphones and having photo sessions wearing long-boots.
Responding to a question, he said Sardar Usman Buzdar was a soft spoken and thorough gentleman and that was why the opposition did not accept him. There was no opposition against him within the PTI, he added.
To another question, Chohan said Usman Buzdar, as chief executive of the province, was running the administrative affairs fairly and judiciously.
