ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Jan, 2019 ) :Prime Minister's Special Assistant on Media Iftikhar Durrani said that the Federal cabinet has discussed 23 agenda items during meeting.

He said the cabinet has approved technical supplementary grant of Rs 297 million as non development and Rs 423 million as development fund for the Interior Ministry.

He said the Prime Minister has directed the Foreign Ministry to brief the cabinet about details of fees of lawyers, nature of cases and amount paid to lobbying firms by the government of Pakistan in United Kingdom during last 10 years.

He said the cabinet has given authority under section 44 of anti smuggling act to District and Session Judge to take legation action in Kalat, Pashin, Mastung and Chaman in controlling smuggling and money laundering.

Durrani said a review was presented in the meeting regarding increasing rates of cement, on which the Ministry of Industries and Production presented its report and informed the cabinet that the cement producers didn't raise these rates but actually retailers and distributors have raised the cement prices, on which the provincial governments have been directed to control the prices of cement.

He said that the cabinet has approved auction of 15 out of 20 old planes of Ministry of food and Security. He said the cabinet has approved the recommendation of Ministry of Communications for arranging an international convention to use roads for economic development. He added during international convention different agreements will be signed to use roads for economic purposes.

The special assistant said the cabinet has approved supplementary grant of Rs 235 million for those employees who die during services besides approval of an amount of Rs 14,055 million for support their families.

He said the cabinet approved appointment of Aamir Azim as Chairman Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA).

He said the cabinet has also approved a supplementary grant of Rs 750 million for NAB to enhance its capacity building of prosecution. He said the cabinet has also approved appointment of BPS-21 officer Ali Raza Bhutta as Secretary BISP.
