Campaign Against Over-speeding Launched

Inspector General National Highways & Motorway Police Aamir Zulfiqar Khan Tuesday launched campaign against over-speeding.
LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Jul, 2018 ) :Inspector General National Highways & Motorway Police Aamir Zulfiqar Khan Tuesday launched campaign against over-speeding.
He briefed the media about initiating programme of enforcement against over-speeding vehicles through box formation technique, at Babu Sabu.
The IG Motorway said that many people especially young ones have lost their precious lives in road crashes resulted by over-speeding. He further said that over-speeding was main cause in seventy percent of total accidents. He said that culture of rash driving by children from well-off families in luxury vehicles had reached to an alarming proportion and this tendency would be curbed at all costs.
Later, the IG Motorway along-with media representatives went on motorway M2 where they observed practical demo of the Box Formation technique. He said that besides over-speeding, briefing and enforcement against lane violation, overweight vehicles, unfit vehicles and dozing at wheel will be his prime focus.
DIG Motorways Ashfaq Ahmad Khan, SSP M2 South Ayyaz Saleem, other officers of Motorway police and large number of media persons were also present.
