District Police Officer (DPO) Manshera Zaibullah Khan Saturday directed all candidates of local bodies bye-elections in district to follow the code of conduct issued by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).
He said this while chairing a meeting with the candidates of LG bye-elections.
Ziabullah Khan further said that we would provide a congenial environment for the voters and candidates to cost their vote and contest the election in a free, fair and transparent manner.
He said that political parties and candidate would not take any step which is against our ideology and the country and also a violation of the code of conduct issued by the ECP.
The DPO informed the meeting that no candidates or political party can place their flags on government buildings or property, while wall chalking and pasting of posters is also prohibited.
Candidates and supports should avoid hate speeches, sectarian violence and any other which can harm the society, he said.
Police would provide foolproof security during the electoral process and candidates are also directed to follow the instruction and fully cooperate with law enforcement agencies to avoid any untoward situation.
