ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Jan, 2019 ) :The Capital Development Authority (CDA) is taking consolidated steps to complete development work at fast pace in all the sectors of the Federal capital, particularly Park Enclave, CDA Member Estate Khushal Khan said on Tuesday.

Chairing a meeting here at the CDA headquarters, he said the formations concerned had been directed not only to actively pursue cases pending in courts but also to resolve different issues so that residual development work could be completed at accelerated pace.

The meeting was attended by officers of Law Wing, Land and Rehabilitation Directorate, Estate Management Directorate and other formations.

The meeting showed concern over a news report published in a specific section of media regarding the Park Enclave, which was based on distorted facts, misrepresentation and absolutely unwarranted accusations.

Representatives of Law Wing informed the meeting that in an appeal titled, Hameeda Bano etc. vs CDA, the Islamabad High Court had restrained the CDA from making allotments in Kurri Model Village till next date of hearing.

They said the CDA had neither blamed nor accused the IHC in the referred letter. The impression given by the certain section of media was not based on the facts, and was itself contemptuous and defamatory, they told the meeting, adding the high court would be apprised of the correct factual position when the case was fixed for hearing.

The meeting was apprised that the possession of 61 plots in Park Enclave could not be handed over to the allottees as the subject land, which was acquired way back in 1968, was still under illegal occupation of previous landowners despite payment of compensation and rehabilitation benefits. In 2008, the CDA with the permission from the then federal government entered into a package deal with them in order to clear the land by relocating them in Kurri Model Village.

The Member Estate directed the Law Wing to actively pursue the cases impeding development work not only in Park Enclave but in other sectors as well.
