LAYYAH, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 07th Nov, 2017 ) :Punjab Minister for Disaster Management Mehr Ejaz Chalana has said the Punjab government is implementing project for women's welfare and free cattle are being distributed among 29,000 widows in under-developed regions.
Addressing a ceremony, held for distribution of cows and buffaloes among 200 widows of the district here Tuesday, he said it would help them earn their livelihoods. The minister said it had been building a resource center worth Rs140 million, to help women prepare household items on their own under a single roof.
MNA Faiz-ul-Hassan, MPA Chaudhry Ashfaq Ahmad informed the people about government's welfare projects including Thal canal expansion, super bund project to save low-lying areas, free hospital facility through health card, provision of agri products on lesser rates and without interest loans for growers.
Later, widows were awarded free-of-cost cattle through balloting. The meeting was attended by a large number of public officers and people from different walks of life.
