
CDGL Continues Drive Against Overcharging

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th August, 2016) : The City District Government Lahore (CDGL) continued its drive against overcharging and challaned 22 shopkeepers besides imposing fine worth Rs 20,000 on violators of Price Act, here on Monday.
CDGL Special Price Control Magistrates conducted raids on 974 shops in various areas of the city and inspected price of commodities at local level.
As many as 96 persons were got arrested out of which 35 were sent to jail for three days after summary trial on the spot. CDGL teams also lodged 54 FIRs against the violators of Price Law in various police stations. DCO Capt. (R) Muhammad Usman issued directions to the Town Administrators to continue crackdown against the profiteering to provide relief to the masses.
