Cellular companies earned Rs412.28 billion from consumers in last 3 years, Senate told

The cellular companies have collected a sum of Rs412.28 billion from their consumers in the last three years, Minister for Information Technology Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddique told Senate.

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Nov, 2018 ) :The cellular companies have collected a sum of Rs412.28 billion from their consumers in the last three years, Minister for Information Technology Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddique told Senate.

In a written reply to the question of Senator Siraj-ul-Haq, he said mobile companies had earned Rs365.48 billion revenues in 2016 and Rs318.82 billion in 2015.

Giving details he said, CM Pak Limited (zong) had collected Rs72.79 billion in last three years, Telenor Pakistan (Pvt) limited collected Rs113.76 billion revenues in last three years.

Likewise Pakistan Mobile Communication Limited (JAZZ) had earned a sum of Rs167.74 billion and Pak Telecom (UFONE) had collected Rs 57.99 billion revenue in last three years.

Giving breakup of cellular companies revenues, he said Zong had earned Rs58.62 billion in 2016 and Rs52.93 billion in 2015; Telenor had earned Rs106.03 billion in 2016 and Rs99.25 billion in 2015; Similarly Jazz earned Rs 141.72 billion in 2016 and Rs110.24 billion in 2015; Ufone had collected Rs59.12 billion revenues in 2016 and Rs56.39 billion in 2017.

Responding to a question, he said cellular companies had collected Rs1,096,578,187 as sales tax from consumers in last three years.

Zong has collected a sum of Rs184,334,342 sales tax in last three years. Telenor has collected Rs319,039,016, Jazz had collected Rs419,705,407 and Ufone had collected Rs173, 499,122 as sales tax from consumers in last three years.
