A group of 127 Hindu yatrees on Tuesday attended the central ceremony of Shivratri festival at Katas Raj temples in Chakwal and performed their rituals.

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 11th Dec, 2018 ) :A group of 127 Hindu yatrees on Tuesday attended the central ceremony of Shivratri festival at Katas Raj temples in Chakwal and performed their rituals.

Addressing the ceremony, Evacuee Trust Property board (ETPB) Chairman Tahir Ehsan said that Hindu community, besides other minorities, enjoyed complete religious freedom in Pakistan.

He said that Pakistan would always welcome Hindu yatrees coming from India and facilitate the local Hindu community members.

Peace could be brought about in the region by promoting relations between Pakistan and India, he added.

Speaking on the occasion, group leader Shiv Partab Bajaj said that they thanked and appreciated the steps taken by chief justice of Pakistan and Prime Minister Imran Khan for Katas Raj temples.

He said that Pakistan was their second home and the Hindu yatrees were quite happy to see the renovation of their temples.

Board Secretary, Tariq Wazir, said that all security arrangements besides accommodations, food and medical facilities have been completed for the yatrees.

He said that residential complex, wash-rooms for Hindu yatrees are under construction while steps have been taken for provision of other facilities.

The Hindu yatrees will reach Lahore from Katas Raj temples in Chakwal on December 13, and go back to India on December 15.
