Chairman PEMRA Asks Cable Operators To Follow Laws

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th Nov, 2018 ) :A delegation of cable operators from Lahore held a meeting with Chairman Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) Muhammad Saleem Baig on Monday and discussed issues of mutual concern.
The Chairman PEMRA informed the cable operators about orders of the Supreme Court about illegal Direct to Home (DTH) service and asked them to stay away from all illegal activities and change their transmission according to PEMRA laws.
He said PEMRA would expand scope of its operations and nobody would be allowed to indulge in illegal activity.
Chairman PEMRA assured of his cooperation to resolve problems and meet all justified demands of the cable operators and said he would resolve issues facing the cable industry.
He said all channels which were violating the religious and social values would be stopped.
He said the broadcast of messages about the dam fund, clean and green Pakistan and other social messages should be aired to promote the aspect of responsibility in society.
