Chairman Water Commission To Attend A Ceremony At U.S.-Pakistan Center For Advanced Studies In Water

The Chairman of Supreme Court-mandated Commission on Water and Sanitation of Sindh Justice (Retd) Amir Hani Muslim will be the chief guest at the closing ceremony of the Diploma Course in "Flood Forecasting and Flood Hazard Management" on Saturday at Water Centre of Mehran University of Engineering and Technology Jamshoro.
HYDERABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th Jul, 2018 ) :The Chairman of Supreme Court-mandated Commission on Water and Sanitation of Sindh Justice (Retd) Amir Hani Muslim will be the chief guest at the closing ceremony of the Diploma Course in "Flood Forecasting and Flood Hazard Management" on Saturday at Water Centre of Mehran University of Engineering and Technology Jamshoro.
According to announcement here on Friday Dr Muhammad Aslam Uqaili, Vice Chancellor Mehran University, Jamal Mustafa Syed Secretary Sindh Irrigation Department, Dr Steven J. Burian, Director Utah Water Center, USA, Dr Bakhshal Lashari, Project Director MUET Water Center, Dr Rasool Bux Mahar, Deputy Director, Faculty members, and the diploma course participants will attend the ceremony and will share their experiences and importance of the course in preparing and equipping them with modern technologies for managing the flood situations in Sindh.
The course included seven training modules for offering 16 credit hour diploma course that was designed by faculty and management of U.S.-Pakistan Center for Advanced Studies in Water (USPCAS-W), MUET in collaboration with their counterparts of USPCAS-W, University of Utah, USA.
The diploma course is a collaborative effort of USPCAS-W MUET and Sindh Irrigation Department, Government of Sindh after signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two entities. It included funding support of Rs.41 million for "Capacity Building of Officers/ Officials of Sindh Irrigation Department". Total 12 officials of the department have completed the diploma course.
