Chief Justice Of Pakistan To Preside Committee For Determination Of Private School Fee

Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar will chair a committee session, formed to resolve the issue of fee hike of private schools, to fix the issue amicably and swiftly.
The Chief Justice remarked this while heading a three-judge bench hearing a suo motu case regarding fee hike by the private school He remarked that now the committee would decide that how much and how many time in a year fee would be hiked by the schools adding that increase of fee should be reasonable and the stakeholders should ideally find a solution together.
Justice Ijaz ul Hasan remarked that the committee headed by a Federal ombudsman and includes former attorney general Makhdoom Ali Khan, was taking time to conduct a forensic audit regarding how much fee was being charged by schools.
The law secretary informed the bench that private schools wanted to increase the fee by 8 to 10 percent, and did not want any restrictions placed on them.
The Chief Justice expressed dissatisfaction for the committee's progress on the matter and remarked that private schools were increasing fee, and parents were left crying, now I would chair the committee himself.
Subsequently, the court directed the committee to determine how often and by how much the fee could be increased adjourned further hearing to date in office.
