PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 4th Sep, 2018 ) :Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Mahmood Khan here Wednesday afternoon polled his vote in the Presidential Election.
A total of 107 MPAs have so far polled their votes during a peaceful atmosphere held here at KP Assembly Hall.
Besides Chief Minister KP, Law Minister Sultan Muhammad Khan, Deputy Speaker KP Assembly, Mehmood Jan, ANP leader Sardar Hussain Babak and PMLN leader, Sardar Aurangzaib Nalota have also cast their votes.
Later talking to reporters, Chief Minister KP Mahmood Khan said the position of PTI candidate, Dr Arif Alvi is very strong and will win the election with overwhelming majority today.
He said process of democratic transition will complete with election of President of Pakistan today in the country.
To a question, he said concerns of PTI lawmaker, Shah Muhammad Khan has been addressed and after by elections, he would take oath in his cabinet.
Meanwhile, voting process expedited in KP's Assembly and will continue till 4pm.
The MPAs of treasury and opposition benches are exercising their right in a free, fair and transparent manner.
The lawmakers will elect 13 President of Pakistan. PTI's Dr Arif Alvi, PPP's Aitzaz Ahsan and MMA's Maulana Fazlur Rehman are contesting for office of President of Pakistan for next five years term.
Out of total 124 members of the KP assembly, 112 lawmakers are part of the Electoral College for the Presidential Election.
The PTI with 79 legislators on their benches emerged the single largest party with two-third majority whereas the combined opposition comprising ANP, MMA, PPP and PMLN have a total tally of 33.
As many as 12 seats of the provincial legislature are vacant where by election are due on September 10 (PK 23) and October 14. The PTI has vacated seven seats whereas one seat was vacated by ANP.
The election on two Constituencies was postponed due to death of ANP leader Haroon Bilour and PTI's Ikramullah Khan Gandapur in the blasts at Peshawar and DI Khan during election campaign.
