Chief Minister (CM) Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar Monday said that development schemes pertaining to backward areas, especially southern Punjab would be completed within their time frame.
He said that departments concerned should proactively work to provide relief to the people living in far-flung areas.
Addressing a high-level meeting at Civil Secretariat in which detailed review of public welfare schemes and other ongoing projects was held.
The CM ordered for early completion of clean drinking water schemes and development projects relating to healthcare and education sectors.
He informed the meeting that the Punjab government would set up Arazi Centres in remote areas under the land record information management system.
"Identification of land has been completed for setting up Arazi Centres, which will provide facilities to people of backward regions.
It is our job to provide facilities to general public at their doorsteps," he added.
The CM expressed his strong resentment over delay in completion of some schemes and reprimanded the officers concerned.
He made it clear that negligence in providing better facilities of healthcare to common man was not tolerable at any cost.
He said that special attention had been paid to social sector development in annual development programme.
"A realistic ADP was being designed for these sectors. We have set priorities for prosperity of people and rights will be given to people belonging to southern Punjab and other less-developed areas," he said.
