
Chiniot Police Launch Crackdown On Kite Flying

CHINIOT, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th Jul, 2025) The Chiniot Police have initiated a full-scale crackdown against kite flyers and kite flying equipment sellers, following the orders of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif.
In this regard, District Police Officer (DPO) Chiniot Abdullah Ahmed has formed special teams to prevent kite flying across the district. Acting on a tip-off, Chenab Nagar Police on Saturday arrested two individuals selling kite flying equipment and flying kites, recovering kites and chemical strings from their possession.
On this occasion, DPO Abdullah Ahmed while exclusively talking to APP, emphasized that strict action will be taken against violators of the kite flying ban.
According to him, the Chiniot Police are not only enforcing the ban but also conducting an awareness campaign to prevent kite flying. Announcements are being made in mosques across the district, and citizens are being informed on social media about the implications and prevention of kite flying.
The police are encouraging citizens to demonstrate civic responsibility by reporting kite flyers or sellers on emergency number 15.
