Christchurch Attack: Hindu Community To Keep Holi Celebrations Simple

Karachi (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 18th March, 2019) The Hindu community has announced to celebrate their Holi festival with simplicity in view of the Christchurch attack.
According to details, the chairman of Pakistan Hindu Council expressed deep grief and sorrow over the attack on worshippers in New Zealand mosques.
The Hindu community has therefore decided to keep Holi celebrations simple to extend solidarity with the victims of the deadly shooting.
Moreover, the annual Holi ceremony held in Sindh Assembly has also been cancelled.
The decision of the Hindu community is being appreciated.
New Zealand was struck by two deadly attacks in Christchurch on Friday, with 49 people killed and another 20 seriously injured after gun assaults on mosques as Muslims worshipped.
During afternoon prayers on Friday, a gunman opened fire inside the Masjid al Noor mosque in central Christchurch, killing 41. Another seven were killed at a second mosque five kilometres away in suburban Linwood, three of them outside the building.
At least nine Pakistanis are confirmed to have been killed in the terror attack in Christchurch, New Zealand.
Six of the Pakistanis martyred in the Christchurch attack will be buried in New Zealand while three dead bodies will be brought to Pakistan for burial.
The Pakistani flag remained lowered at government buildings in solidarity with the victims of the attack.
