Citizen Eye, Ex-Service Men apps to be milestone in modern policing: IGP

Inspector General of Police Punjab Capt. (R) Arif Nawaz Khan has said that "Citizen Eye App" and "Ex-Service Men App" will be a milestone in modern policing

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th May, 2018 ) :Inspector General of Police Punjab Capt. (R) Arif Nawaz Khan has said that "Citizen Eye App" and "Ex-Service Men App" will be a milestone in modern policing.

Addressing the officials at CCPO Lahore and Qila Gujjar Singh Police Line here on Tuesday, he said that this will not only improve the coordination between the citizens and police, but will also help them to benefit from the experience of retired police officers.

He said that Lahore Police are pioneer in the use of Information technology and its mobile apps and other IT reforms are being replicated by other provinces. To keep up with the demands of contemporary policing, these reforms should be extended to other districts too ensuring effective monitoring at all cost.

He said that all the officers and officials of Punjab Police are committed that they will perform their duties to ensure safety and security of the citizens till they breathe their last and they are determined to continue this tradition in future as well.

While briefing the IGP, about the two newly launched apps, SSP Admin Rana Ayaz Saleem, said that through "Citizen Eye App" every citizen of Lahore can share information, complaints and recommendations to the higher officials.

Citizens can also send pictures and videos through this app that will help to identify and eradicate the crimes and criminals.

He further said that "Ex-Servicemen App" is designed to take care of retired police officials and to utilize their expertise to eradicate crime.

IG Punjab also appreciated the performance of SSP Admin Rana Ayaz Saleem in the development of these apps and said that these apps will not only help to curb the criminal activities but also improve liaison between police and citizens.

IG Punjab was also briefed about the working of "Lahore Police Triple One Information System". IG Punjab also inaugurated CCPO officers lounge at CCPO Lahore Office that has been built for the stay of the international delegations visiting from Turkey China and other countries where they will get foolproof security and other facilities.

On this occasion, CCPO Lahore Capt. (R) Amin wains presented souvenir to IGP Punjab. Afterwards IG visited Qila Gujar Singh Police Line where he awarded the officers and officials from Operations, Investigation, Traffic police, Dolphin, anti riots and of other departments with cash prize for their brilliant performance.

Appreciating the officials, IG Punjab said that brave and dutiful officials are valuable asset of the department. He further opined that along with good performance officials should also win hearts of the public through their good behavior. Later, he also listened to the problems of the officials and gave directions for improvement.
