Citizens of Hyderabad observe Eid Milad-un-Nabi (SAW) amid tight security

HYDERABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st Nov, 2018 ) :Like other parts of the world, Eid Miladun Nabi (SAW) was celebrated with religious enthusiasm and fervour under tight security arrangements by the police and Rangers.

Hundreds of rallies were taken out in City, Latifabad, Qasimabad and Rural talukas here on Wednesday to celebrate the day.

The roads, streets, squares, private and government buildings across the city wore a festive look, lit up by colourful lights and buntings, while a number of programmes were held to celebrate the event.

The streets and main roads were decorated with green flags. Besides the recitation of naat, rides on camel carts, decorated horses and fireworks also featured in the rallies.

In Hyderabad the two main processions were organized by factions of Jamiat Ulema-e-Pakistan (JUP), including one led by former MNA Sahibzada Abul Khair Muhammad Zubair and another by religious leader Shah Awais Noorani's group.

The large procession culminated near Qadam Gah Moula Ali where Zubair addressed Milad-e-Mustafa (PBUH) conference.

The programmes of milad-e-Mustafa (PBUH) were also organized at hundreds of places across the city.

The Hyderabad police deployed 3,500 personnel and 200 volunteers for security in the district, according to the police spokesman Mazharul Haq alias Shani. The central procession's security was covered by 1,250 policemen, he added.

The spokesman told that more than 40 CCTV cameras were also installed in different parts of the city mostly along the routes of the processions. He added that the snipers were positioned at 42 tall buildings while the police pickets were set up at 90 places.

The vehicles of fire brigade as well as the ambulances were stationed at 11 locations while 5 police assault team centres were set up at the sensitive locations.

A central control room was set up at the SSP office to monitor the activities, he further added.
