Citrus plant pruning must in current season

SARGODHA, Jan 2 (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 02nd Jan, 2017 ) : Director Citrus Research Institute Sargodha Altaf-ur-Rehman has advised citrus orchard holders to start pruning process of dry branches of fruit trees for controlling diseases like trusmelanoze, Canker and Scab.

Talking to APP, he said that germs existed at the dry branches even in the winter season which attack the whole citrus farms in the early spring resultantly citrus tree drops its flowers and production is decreased.

He said that research was continuing in this regard and the centre had already introduced disease-free Kinnow plants which would be helpful in enhancing production and quality.
