CM Chairs Meeting Of SIDB

PESHAWAR, Jan 4 (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 04th Jan, 2017 ) : Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak on Wednesday chaired a meeting of the Board of Directors of Small Industrial Development Board that approved 10% increase in salaries and award of one bonus to the employees working in Woodwork Centres of the board.
These decisions were taken in meeting of the Boards of Directors of SIDB held at Chief Minister Secretariat, Peshawar. The meeting besides other members of the board was also attended by Secretary Industries Farrah Hamed, Secretary Finance Ali Raza Bhutta, MD SIDB Rasheed Khan Painda Khel and President of Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry Haji Muhammad Afzal.
MD SIDB, beside apprising the meeting about activities, achievements of the board also highlighted and future plans of the board. Similarly, problems faced by the board were also discussed on the occasion while a number of decisions were taken in the meeting.
The meeting was informed that 11 industrial estates were functioning in the province currently. The meeting was briefed that various centres of SIDB had produced different products worth Rs. 2206 million in the last five years while the board has earned a net profit of Rs.
269 million in the mentioned period. The meeting of the Board of Directors approved revised budget of the board for 2015-16 while budget estimate for 2016-17 were also sanctioned on the occasion.
The meeting sanctioned a period of 99 years for leasing out of the commercial and industrial plots in SIDB estates throughout the province. Similarly, the board while sanctioning merit policy for recruitment of employees in the board held NTS as mandatory for recruitment.
The meeting while approving a service structure for the employees of the woodworking centres of SIDB ordered of wetting the service structure from the Establishment Department.
The meeting of the Board of Directors constituted a committee to review training manual and facilities in various training centres of SIDB and to compile recommendations for improvement of the training quality.
Similarly, the meeting approved cancellation of the plots of those allottees of Charsada Small Industrial Estate who had failed to pay installments of the plots. The meeting also approved replication of this decision to all small industrial estates of the province.
Likewise, fixation of price for leasing out plots in Dargai Small Industrial Estate Malakand Agency was approved in the meeting. The meeting okayed advertising of plots for leasing out in industrial estates Abbottabad while authorities were asked to submit recommendations for disposal of assets of the closed industrial estates of the province in the next meeting.
Similarly, leasing out of the closed industrial estate of the Akora Khattak was also approved. The meeting ordered authorities of the SIDB to develop vacant commercial plots in various industrial estates through their own resources to make it money generating.
The meeting also proposed linking of SIDB to economic zone development company for efficient development. The Chief Minister on this occasion, ordered convening meeting of the board of directors regularly after every three months.
He also ordered arrangements for improvement of training facilities offered by the board. He directed to increase profit of the board to make it an earning institute. Similarly, the Chief Minister ordered conducting a minute study of the expenditures of the board and ordered to run it as a commercial institute.
