CM committed to South Punjab development, say ministers

MULTAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 08th Jan, 2018 ) :Provincial ministers Mahr Ijaz Achlana and Iqbal Channar Monday said that Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif was committed to development of South Punjab and all resources were being utilized to facilitate people.

The ministers, who paid a visit to review the pace of development in Multan division, said this while presiding over a meeting at the commissioner office, says an official release here. Commissioner Bilal Ahmad Butt, deputy commissioner Nadir Chatha, director development Tanweer Iqbal and officials of different departments attended the meeting.

The Commissioner said that 698 development schemes including 395 in Multan, 243 in Khanewal and 60 in Lodhran were completed during the on-going fiscal year. He added that another 236 school education schemes were being completed under the annual development plan.

He said that the schemes would hopefully be completed within next two months.

Director development Tanweer Iqbal gave a detailed briefing to the ministers on status of on-going and new schemes being executed in Multan division.

Deputy commissioner Nadir Chatha said that a master plan had been prepared for infrastructure development of Multan and sewerage and road schemes were being completed on priority. Punjab minister for disaster management Mahr Ijaz Achlana said that Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif was taking revolutionary steps for development of South Punjab.

He ordered officials concerned to ensure completion of all mega development initiatives by March 2018. Provincial minister Iqbal Channar said that government was keeping special focus on South Punjab uplift and ordered all the departments concerned to submit a comprehensive report on all the schemes completed so far.

He also instructed deputy commissioners to send demands to the provincial government for release of funds for completion of on-going schemes.
