CM Directs For Completion Of Solarization Of Tube Wells

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News -20th Sept,2016) : Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak has directed the concerned to ensure completion of the solarization of tube wells program of the KP government in accordance with the international standards with main focus on transparency and quality.

He expressed these views while chairing a meeting on local government LG affairs and ADP 2015-16 of district government Tank here at Chief Minister House on Tuesday. Provincial Ministers Muhammad Atif Khan, Ali Amin Gandapur, MPA Mehmood Battani were present on the occasion.

Chief Minister informed that public health engineering department has shortlisted some reputed firms for solarization of tube wells in the province and directed the respective authorities to replicate the same exercise.

Chief Minister stressed upon the officials of the local government and administration of the district government to ensure 100% provision of quality education and health facilities in the schools and hospitals in their respective areas so that people could benefit from them.

The better service delivery by the LG system would help restore people's confidence in the LG institutions. The Chief Minister said that his government as per its promise devolved the power and resources to the district governments and now it was responsibility of the elected representatives of the local government to fulfill their responsibilities in befitting manner.

Chief Minister directed to send the Local Government Commission for approval under the laid down procedure and in the light of the relevant law. He made it clear that budget of the district government should be prepared as per the laid down rules in a transparent manner and spent judiciously purely on public interest instead of going into the pockets of corrupt individuals.

The Chief Minister also directed for overcoming the shortages of Officers in the local government for onward posting in districts including Tank. He ordered the quarter concerned to post 10 officers of PMS in the local government department for onward posting against the vacant posts.

Only the strong district governments could deliver effectively, he explained. Pervez Khattak also called for filling vacant post of Assistant Director Local Government in Tank district and gave one month time to the TMO Tank to improve his performance, ensure quality standard of work on roads, drinking water and solarization of tube wells.

The Chief Minister while taking exception to grant of additional honoraria in some districts, directed for taking back the same.
