Commissioner chairs meeting to address issues of Mohmand district

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Sep, 2021 ) :Commissioner Peshawar Division, Riaz Khan Mehsud on Thursday here presided over a meeting held to review ongoing development works, the state of education system and other issues faced by the people in Mohmand district.

The meeting, besides others, was also attended by Deputy Commissioner Mohmand, Ghalam Habib and officers from C&W, Education Department, KP Highways Authority and officers from relevant departments.

At the meeting officers concerned apprised the Commissioner about the performance of their departments. The Commissioner while showing resentment over slow pace of work on main Yakka Ghund-Ghalanai Road, directed the officers of KP Highways Authority to expedite work on this project of important nature.

The Commissioner while seeking a report on daily basis to his office in this regard directed for carrying out repeated water sprinkling on under construction road to subside dust for the convenience of the people.

Taking action in the absence of teaching staff at schools in Mohmand district, the Commissioner issued directives for functionalizing the attendance system and deducting salaries of teachers failing to appear on duty.

The Commissioner also took notice of the dilapidated condition of Ghalanai to Mamdgatt Road and sought a report from KP Highways Authority in this regard.

He said a complete ban should be imposed on overloaded vehicles and scales be installed at two points to check the weight of the vehicles. These scales, he said, should remain round the clock operative.

Addressing the meeting the Commissioner made it clear that there was no room for officers with poor performance in Peshawar Division.

He said legal action would be initiated against such officers once a complaint against them was received.
