Commissioner Hazara for foolproof security arrangements for Muharram

Commissioner Hazara, Amjad Ali Khan Tuesday directed police and district administrations of the region to ensure foolproof security arrangements for Muharram processions and gatherings.

ABBOTTABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 11th Sep, 2018 ) :Commissioner Hazara, Amjad Ali Khan Tuesday directed police and district administrations of the region to ensure foolproof security arrangements for Muharram processions and gatherings.

Addressing the meeting of Ulema of different sects, police officers and others here at his office, he said that police and administration were ready to cope with any untoward situation during the holy month.

He also directed police and administration to make sure the easy movement of the masses during Muharram processions.

Ulema of different sects assured the Commissioner of their cooperation during Muharram for peacekeeping.

Following the orders of Commissioner Hazara, the police and district administration finalized the security plans for the 9th and 10th Muharram in all over the division.

Meanwhile Deputy Commissioners of Haripur and Manshera imposed section 144 in all over the districts to ensure peaceful observance of the holy month besides protection of Muharram processions and Majalis.

Under section 144, the entry of Afghan refugees in Haripur city after 7 pm would remain prohibited while pillion riding and display of arms would also be banned.

The violation of Muharram processions' route, change of time of processions and new procession other than schedule would be banned.

People outside the district would not allow staying at hotels or inns located in surrounding areas of Imambarghas and on routes of Muharram processions.

It was further elaborated that inciting religious disharmony, display of weapons, wall chalking, distribution and sale of CD's, pamphlets, booklets would also be banned. Violators would be dealt under Pakistan penal code (PPC) section 185.
