Commissioner Multan Orders For Restoration Of Historical Buildings

Commissioner Imran Sikandar Balouch on Friday directed departments concerned to restore the historical buildings in the city.

MULTAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 9th Nov, 2018 ) :Commissioner Imran Sikandar Balouch on Friday directed departments concerned to restore the historical buildings in the city.

He directed the district administration to identify the centuries old buildings under the walled city project.

Presiding over a meeting about the walled city project here, the commissioner ordered for restoring Shaheen Market, Haram Gate Bazaar and Ghana Ghar areas in the first phase.

He said that all historical gates in the city would be renovated in the second phase.

Imran Sikandar also directed to get services of international construction experts for the restoration of buildings.

He ordered for demolishing illegal shops and encroachments from the walled city as early as possible.

Deputy Commissioner Mudassir Riaz Malik while giving briefing said the district government would make historical places recreational ones to promote tourism.

He said that renovation of Haram Gate, Jewellery Market and Musafir Khana had been completed under the walled city project.
