Commissioner Reviews Cholistan Jeep Rally Arrangements

BAHAWALPUR, Jan 5 (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 05th Jan, 2017 ) : Commissioner Bahawalpur Division Saqib Zafar has directed that effective measures should be undertaken for security arrangements along the 470 km long track of TDCP Cholistan Jeep Rally in the three districts of Bahawalpur division.
He issued these directions while presiding over a video link conference of the Administrative Officers of three districts of Bahawalpur division to review the arrangements of Cholistan Jeep Rally at his conference room.
"All arrangements to organize cultural shows, medical camps, refilling points, communication points and other administrative measures in line with the arrangement plan should be put into place by mobilizing all available resources", Saqib Zafar said.
He further directed all Deputy Commissioners of the Bahawalpur division to establish special spots along the track of the rally in the vicinity of historical forts which include Jam Garh, Khair Garh, Nawan Kot, Marrot, Moj Garh and Deen Garh for the visitors and spectators.
"Comprehensive traffic control plan along with health facilities, waste management and security cover for camping should be thoroughly finalized", Saqib Zafar maintained. The meeting was briefed that Cholistan Jeep Rally would be held from February 9th to 12th having 2 stages in which 220 km and 250 km distance would be covered in the first and second phase respectively.
The meeting was also apprised that cultural show, fire work and six paragliders performance would be held at Derawer fort. The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bahawalpur Dr. Ehtasham Anwar Mahar, DC Rahim Yar Khan Jameel Ahmad, Additional District Collector Bahawalnagar Rana Amjad Ali, Managing Director Cholistan Development Authority Naeem Iqbal Bukhari, Additional Commissioner Coordination Syed Waseem Hassan, Secretary District Regional Transport Authority Tanveer Hussain and other officers and officials of the concerned departments.
