Committees Formed For Actions Against Eateries, Serving Unhygienic Food

The district administration and Sindh Food Authority (SFA) on Friday formed coordination committees for taking actions against eateries serving unhygienic food in the metropolis.

KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Nov, 2018 ) :The district administration and Sindh Food Authority (SFA) on Friday formed coordination committees for taking actions against eateries serving unhygienic food in the metropolis.

The meeting chaired by Commissioner Karachi Iftikhar Ali Shallwani also decided to develop a database of restaurants, hotels and all food serving eateries of the city.

The meeting discussed in detail about the inspection and needed actions by the city administration as well as the provincial food authority after the incident of death of two minors in the metropolis.

The commissioner stressed the needs for coordination and cooperation to be developed between the officials of the district administration and the SFA.

SFA Director General Amjad Laghari told the meeting that the authority needs support from the city administration and they were willing to provide technical support to the district administration for the prevention of unhygienic food in restaurants, outlets and other eateries in the city.

The officials of SFA, all deputy commissioners and officials of quality control authority department of KMC attended the meeting.
