Concern Raised About Health Of Altaf Shah

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 05th Oct, 2016 ) : The family members of All Parties Hurriyet Conference's Chief Organizer, Altaf Ahmed Shah, in occupied Kashmir have expressed serious concern over his deteriorating health.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the family members told mediamen in Srinagar that Altaf Ahmed Shah has been kept in solitary confinement at Humhama Police Station. They said the incarcerated leader was suffering from various ailments like diabetes and hypertension and his health condition was deteriorating after every passing day as he was not being provided any medical care.

Altaf Ahmed Shah was formally arrested on September 1, after a month long house detention.

Thousands of people including resistance leaders, activists, youth and even government employees have been arrested in occupied Kashmir to quell the protests that started soon after the extra judicial killing of mujahid commander, Burhan Muzaffar Wani on July 8 this year.

During this period, over 100 civilians have been killed so far due to the firing of bullets, pellets and teargas shells by Indian police and troops on the protesters. On the other hand, the puppet authorities have shifted the illegally detained Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front leaders, Bashir Ahmad Butt and Shawkat Ahmed Bakhshi, to Srinagar Central Jail.
