Concrete Steps Needed For Success Of Anti-polio Campaign: DC

MITHI, Jan 6 (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 06th Jan, 2017 ) : The Deputy Commissioner Tharparkar, Muhammad Zaman Narejo Friday directed all the Assistant Commissioners and Mukhtiarkars to take concrete steps for the success of upcoming anti polio campaign and engage Local Government representatives to achieve 100 percent target of vaccination in the district.
While presiding over a meeting to review arrangements of 4-day anti polio campaign to be started from January 16 to 19, the Deputy Commissioner warned that any negligence in duty during the campaign would not be tolerated.
He told the meeting that Tharparkar was a polio free district but we must be vigilant so that it could never be penetrated again. He directed the concerned officers to ensure vaccination of all children under the age of five years.
He said that Rangers and Police would be available for security of the polio teams. The District Health Officer was directed to organize walks and seminars so that people could be provided awareness about the severity of this viral disease.
The District Health Officer, Dr Chander Gomani briefed the meeting regarding arrangements made by the health department for anti polio campaign and assured that all the areas of the district would be covered efficiently.
The meeting was attended among others by Additional Deputy Commissioner I, Muhammad Hussain Lund, all Assistant Commissioners, representative of World Health Organization Dr. Rajesh, Civil Surgeon Mithi Dr Iqbal Ahmad Bhurgari and others.
