Council Of Islamic Ideology Recommends Uniform Marriage Registration Form

The Council of Islamic Ideology (CII) Thursday unanimously recommended uniform marriage registration proforma replacing various forms presently used by Nikkah Registrars.

The 211th Session of Council of Islamic Ideology was chaired by Dr Qubla Ayaz. Justice (R) Muhammad Raza Khan, Abdullah, Justice (R) Manzoor Hussain Gilani, Dr. Muhamnmad Raghib Naeemi, Allama Iftikhar Hussain Naqvi, Dr.

Samiha Raheel Qazi, Sahibzada Zahid Mahmood Qasmi, Imdadullah, Dr. Abdul Hakeem Akbari, Maulana Hafiz Fazal Rahim, Malik Allah Bakhsh Kulyar, Allama Arif Hussain Wahdi, Dr. Qari Abdul Rasheed, Abul Muzaffar Ghulam Muhammad Sialvi, Mr.

Khurshid Ahmad Nadeem, Dr. Sahibzada Sajid-ur- Rehman and Pir Rooh-ul- Hasnain Mueen, attended the meeting. Tributes were paid to nine members of the Council of Islamic Ideology on completing their three years term of membership of the Council on March 5, 2018.

These members include: Justice (R) Muhammad Raza Khan, Abdullah, Justice (R) Manzoor Hussain Gilani, Allama Iftikhar Hussain Naqvi, Dr Samiha Raheel Qazi, Sahibzada Zahid Mahmood Qasmi, Imdadullah, Dr Noor Ahmed Shahtaz and Ali Muhammad Abu Turab.

After this session of the meeting, a symposium under the title 'The History of Islamic Legislation in Pakistan: An Analysis" alongwith book launching ceremony of book. ' Federal Minister of Law and Justice Chaudhry Mahmood Bashir Virk presided over the symposium and Barrister Zafar Ullah Khan, Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Law was the chief guest.

The audience included the representatives from educational institutions, universities, different ministries and Ulema. Barrister Zafar Ullah Khan invited the attention of the Council to some important issues and desired it to deliberate on them in future.

He said that Islamic jurisprudence and tradition of urf and circumstances should be revived again as a requirement of time. Islamic jurisprudence has very wide canvas. Federal Minister of Law and Justice elaborated the importance of vote and democracy and said that the honour of vote must be given its due respect by institutions.

Prof. Dr. Qibla Ayaz, Chairman, Council of Islamic Ideology said that a society deprived of democratic values resultantly lead to the circumstances as are being faced in Libya, Iraq and Syria.
