In the E-challan sent to Mudassir, the rider on a 125 motorcycle had a woman sitting behind him.
Lahore (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 19th November, 2018) The E-challan system has become a cause of contention between married couples.
According to a news report published in a local newspaper, the citizens have been receiving wrong E-challans, becoming a cause of conflict at home.
Reports said that the E-challan is sent to anyone while there is no such mechanism to verify the traffic rules violations by the citizens.
Mudassir Hassan, a resident of Chuburji received an E-challan of Rs 200 for crossing the red signal. In the picture pasted in the E-challan, the rider on a 125 motorcycle had a woman sitting behind him.
When the E-challan was sent home, Mudassir's wife started fighting as to who that woman was on the bike with husband.
Upon which, Mudassir assured his wife that he has a 70 CC motorcycle while he never went to Mughalpura or gave a ride to another woman.
Mudassir appealed the higher authorities to improve the Safe City and Traffic Police system and wrong E-challans should not be sent home or Safe City authorities will be responsible for domestic fights.
The Electronic Ticketing Center (ETC) of Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) since the inception of Electronic Challaning on September 23, has issued thousands of E-challans which ensured a deposit of more than Rs. 7 million to the national exchequer so far.
