Court Grants One-day Transit Remand To Shehbaz Sharif

Lahore (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 10th December, 2018) The Accountability Court has approved one day transit remand of Opposition Leader Shehbaz Sharif.
According to details, a written application was filed by the jail superintendent on behalf of the prosecutor to allow Shehbaz Sharif to travel to Islamabad.
The petition adopted that Shehbaz has to go to Islamabad to attend the National Assembly session.
Approving the request, the court granted one-day transit remand to the opposition leader.
National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaisar had issued production orders for Shehbaz Sharif.
Shehbaz will be taken to Islamabad from Kot Lakhpat jail in the afternoon.
An accountability court on Thursday rejected a request by National Accountability Bureau (NAB) for further physical remand of Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, Opposition Leader in National Assembly, in Ashiana-i-Iqbal housing scheme scam and sent him to jail on judicial remand.
Shehbaz Sharif was in custody of NAB since October 5 for his alleged involvement in Rs 14 billion Ashiana Housing Scheme scam.
Senior bureaucrat Fawad Hassan Fawad and Lahore Development Authority (LDA) former director general Ahad Cheema and others had been arrested in connection with the housing scam.
NAB launched an investigation into the scam in November last after receiving a number of complaints.
