CPEC to open new era of development in the region

ISLAMABAD, Jan 5 (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 05th Jan, 2017 ) : Chairman Gwadar Port, Dostain Jamaldini has said that China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) was the biggest project in the history of Pakistan and "we will develop our human resource in a better way." Talking to Radio Pakistan, he said, "We are entering in the second phase of CPEC." The representatives from all the four provinces were present in the last meeting on CPEC held in Beijing, he added.

He said economic benefits of CPEC would be transferred to the people of all fields. Balochistan province was having 44% of total area of Pakistan and would be benefitted more as compared to other provinces through CPEC, he added.

Gwadar port will be among the busiest and deepest ports in the world. The government had initiated a number of projects for the youth of Balochistan. Prime Minister had announced establishment of a university in Gwadar that would be affiliated with a reputed Chinese university, he said.

Many energy and transportation projects were also the part of CPEC project and all the provinces would be equally benefitted through this project. Industrial parks and economic zones would be established in all the provinces.

New ways to prosper would be opened. CPEC was the project of peace and prosperity, he said. Executive Director, Pakistan Council on China Dr. Fazalur Rehman said the meeting held in Beijing on CPEC was vital as all the provinces had now developed mutual consensus on the CPEC routes.

He said there would be economic development and new job oppurtunities would be created through CPEC. Chinese economy was the second largest economy in the world. Russia, Turkey, Iran and some other countries were also taking interest in this project, he added.

He said International investors were now showing keen interest for investing in Pakistan which was a manifestation of successful economic policies of the government
