CPO appreciates police on safe recovery of abducted boy

City Police Officer (CPO) Athar Ismaeel has appreciated the police performance on safe recovery of an abducted minor boy and announced cash prizes for recovery team headed by Station House Officer (SHO) Ghulam Muhammad Abad police station

FAISALABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 06th Oct, 2017 ) : City Police Officer (CPO) Athar Ismaeel has appreciated the police performance on safe recovery of an abducted minor boy and announced cash prizes for recovery team headed by Station House Officer (SHO) Ghulam Muhammad Abad police station.

Speaking at a press conference at Police Lines here Friday, the CPO said that unidentified kidnappers had abducted 10-year-old Shaheer son of a local trader Abdul Haseeb resident of Sitara Sapna City Ismaeel Road on September 02 when the boy was returning home after playing football in a nearby park ground.

The kidnappers on next day contacted parents of the boy and demanded Rs.30 million as ransom for release of the abductee. Ghulam Muhammad Abad police registered an abduction case and formed a special team headed by SHO Ghulam Muhammad Abad police station Jamshaid Iqbal Chishti.

The police worked day and night to investigate the case on scientific lines due to which it succeeded in tracing out the location of the accused.

The accused kept the abducted boy near Lasani Park and when they learnt that the police were conducting raid at their hideout, they tried to shift the abductee to another place.

However, police on a tip-off intercepted the vehicle (No.LEA-1856) of the accused at Daewoo Road near Sewerage Drain in which they were shifting the abducted boy to another unknown place. The police recovered the abductee from the van and arrested an accused from the spot who was later on identified as Khalid son of Yousuf Jatt resident of Mohallah Eidgah House No.22.105 Mian Channu.

The CPO lauded the performance of police and announced cash prizes and appreciation letters to the team on safe recovery of the abducted boy. He also appealed to the general public to keep a vigilant eye on suspect items and persons and immediately inform the police if they witness something strange around them.
