Criminal Law Amendment Bill Aimed At Increasing Punishment Of Child Abuse: Sitara Ayaz

Senator Sitara Ayaz on Monday said that the Criminal Law Amendment Bill was aimed at increasing the punishment of child abuse convicts including augmentation in the amount fine to be imposed
ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th Jan, 2019 ) :Senator Sitara Ayaz on Monday said that the Criminal Law Amendment Bill was aimed at increasing the punishment of child abuse convicts including augmentation in the amount fine to be imposed.
Talking to APP she said, "The punishment may extend up to seven years of imprisonment or with fine which shall not be less than two hundred thousand rupees whereas it may extend up to twenty-year and with fine not less than one million rupees." She said in the Criminal Law (Amendment) bill "Imprisonment of either description for a term which would not be less than fourteen years and may be extended up to twenty years with one million rupees.
The Criminal Law (Amendment) Bill 2018 passed by the National Assembly was introduced in the Senate on May 2018 which was still pending, she added.
