Dam Construction Essential For Ending Drought In Balochistan: Information Minister

Balochistan Minister for Information and Higher Education Zahoor Ahmed Buledi on Thursday said a plan for construction of several dams are being under consideration to combat ongoing drought in province.
QUETTA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 8th Nov, 2018 ) :Balochistan Minister for Information and Higher education Zahoor Ahmed Buledi on Thursday said a plan for construction of several dams are being under consideration to combat ongoing drought in province.
The Minister said provincial government and opposition parties have passed a regulation unanimously regarding building dams for reducing drought in respective areas of Balochistan during assembly session.
He said Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Jam Kamal Khan was taking special interest in the light of passed resolution to ensure construction of dams and improve ground level of water.
In this regard, Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has dispatched food items and other essential equipment to affected districts of Balochistan including Chaghi, Nushki Kharan and other areas, on special directives of provincial government, he added.
Talking to APP, Provincial Minister for Information Zahoor Buledi mentioned that water is great blessing, saying that awareness measures would be taken to improve water level in the respective areas.
He informed that the Federal government was cooperating with provincial regime to ensure construction of dams.
Zahoor Buledi further said water is life and all available resources would be utilized to improve shortage of water in the area, saying that constructions of dams are vital for province and country.
He also urged people of Balochistan to take part in donation of Bhasha Dam and Mohmand Dam to deal water challenges in futures.
