RAWALPINDI (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 4th Sep, 2018 ) :The Deputy Commissioner Chakwal has pin pointed political interference by a Member of the National Assembly (MNA) in the official administrative matters with special regard to case of cancellation of transfer and posting order of an official working in the District.
In a letter No 8271 /HC (G) dated Sept 03, 2018 written to the Chief Election Commissioner, Registrar Supreme Court of Pakistan and the Chief Secretary Punjab, Deputy Commissioner Chakwal Ghulam Saghir Shahid asked for initiating necessary action under the law against MNA Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khan (NA-64 Chakwal-I) for repeated political interference in the official matters.
The Deputy Commissioner in his letter stated "Today (Sept 03) at 11:18 am Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khan MNA telephoned me for cancellation of the orders of transfer as the transfer was not recommended by him. I told him politely that posting/transfer of the Revenue field staff was to be made by the District Collector or Assistant Commissioner concerned in accordance with the policy and Honourable MNA had no role in the posting/transfer. I politely declined him that I will not make posting/transfer on his recommendation.
"In response thereof, he resorted to threat and said that he has to get all the postings/transfers as recommended by him and he will see who wins. "The political interference in the administrative matters by the MNA is unwarranted, unlawful and devoid of decency," the letter read.
The letter mentioning the background of the incident read that the MNA on August 30, 2018 had sent a sealed envelop to the undersigned (Deputy Commissioner). On opening of the envelop, it transpired that the MNA had recommended 17 officials of the Revenue Department (Girdawards / Patwaris / Readers) for their postings and transfers. The list was duly signed by the MNA. At 4 pm on Sept 01, 2018, the MNA visited the office of the Deputy Commissioner and insisted for carrying out posting transfers according to the list.
On 11:18 am on Sept 03, 2018, the MNA made a phone call asking to cancel transfer orders of Mr. Muhammad Aslam Patwari who was transferred from Tehsil Kallar Kahar and posted in Tehsil Choa Saidan Shah, the Deputy Commissioner stated in his letter. A copy of the letter has also been sent to the Commissioner Rawalpindi.
