DC Reviews Monsoon Preparedness

GUJRAT, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th Jul, 2025) Deputy Commissioner Noor ul Ain Qureshi chaired a high-level meeting on Saturday to review monsoon preparedness and disaster management plans for the district.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Khizar Hayat Bhatti, Assistant Commissioner Gujrat Bilal Zubair, AC Kharian Ahmed Sher, AC Sara-i-Alamgir Farooq Azam, District Emergency Officer Rescue 1122 Umar Akbar Ghuman, XEN Irrigation Faisal Sardar, and other officials from relevant departments attended the meeting.

Participants briefed the DC on the district’s flood flashpoints, potential risks, drainage conditions, sanitation arrangements, and Rescue 1122’s emergency readiness. The meeting also reviewed the district’s disaster management plan, response mechanism, emergency camp setup, and public awareness initiatives.

DC Qureshi, accompanied by XEN Irrigation Faisal Sardar and AC Gujrat Bilal Zubair, visited erosion-prone areas along the River Chenab to inspect the current situation and preventive measures.
