DCs Asked To Ensure Provision Of Required Polling Staff,logistics Support

KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th Jun, 2018 ) :Commissioner Muhammad Sualeh Ahmad Faruqui directed all the deputy commissioners (DCs) to ensure the provision of required poling staff to the election commissioners at district level.
Any logistics support must be carried out according to the direction and guidelines issued by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).
He was chairing a meeting here on Sunday regarding the arrangements and preparation of upcoming General election 2018.
The meeting reviewed the arrangements being made for smooth process of General Election 2018. He said it was important to ensure that poling staff was provided with necessary logistics support as per directives of the ECP.
He said all the deputy commissioners should follow the instructions of the ECP for the arrangements of peaceful and transparent elections.
All deputy commissioners briefed the meeting about the arrangements made by them for provision of poling staff and logistic support to the concerned elections commissioners.
It was decided that code of conducts issued by the ECP would be fully implemented and in this regard monitoring committees headed by the deputy commissioners should start their work immediately.
The Commissioner said that the monitoring committees should follow the ECP's directions and guidelines in true spirits.
The meeting was attended among others by the Regional Election Commissioner Ali Asgher Siyal, all deputy commissioners, Additional Commissioner Karachi Mohammad Ali Shah and Director Local Government Farooq Siddiqui.
