Delegation Of Minority Coverage Foundation Meet DIG Operations Lahore

DIG Operations Lahore Muhammad Waqas Nazir has acknowledged the contributions and sacrifices of members of the Lahore Police particularly Christians for maintaining peace in the city.
He was talking to the members of delegation of Minority Coverage Foundation (MCF) led by its central president Emmanuel Gulzar here Thursday. Bishop Joseph, Sardar Manmohan Singh, Pundit Baghat Lal, Bishop Chaman Sardar, Aneel Emmanuel, Doctor Badar Munir, Qari Muhammad Younas Naqshbandi and Malik Muhammad Abdul Ghaffar were the members of the delegation.
The delegation also met with the SSP Operations Capt Mustansir Feroze and SP Security Faisal Shahzad. Members of the delegation cut a cake in continuation of the celebrations of forth coming Christmas and also presented honorary Shields to the Police officers.
Acknowledging the role of Christian staff members of the Lahore Police, DIG Operations said that minority's role is very important for promotion of interfaith harmony in the country. He highlighted the contribution of Christian Policemen adding that they have been assigned very important duties as part of effective policing.
Central president of the Foundation Emmanuel Gulzar said that all Pakistanis are brothers and there is no discrimination among any of the citizens of the country as minorities role is greatly acknowledged in every field of life.
Separately, DIG Operations directed all divisional SPs, DSPs and SHOs to ensure foolproof security of the Christmas Bazaars being established in different areas of the city by the City District Government. He said all divisional SPs should personally visit these bazaars to review the security arrangements. He said that Lahore Police will adopt foolproof security arrangements for ensuring peaceful celebrations of Christmas. He directed that no one should enter these Christmas bazaars without checking.
Dolphin and Police Response Unit should conduct continues patrolling around these bazaars. Security of other shopping centers of the city should be beefed up as well to ensure the safety of citizens. He requested the citizens particularly Christian community to have a vigilant eye on the activities around them and immediately inform the concerned PoliceStation regarding any suspicious person or activity.
