KHANEWAL, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 7th Aug, 2024) District Emergency Response Committee in Khanewal has launched a comprehensive campaign to eliminate breeding sites and monitor high-risk areas, in a bid to combat the spread of dengue fever.

Deputy Commissioner Khanewal Muhammad Ali Bhukhari chaired the meeting of Emergency Response Committee on Wednesday.

CEO Health DHA Khanewal, Syed Ali Mehdi, during the meeting emphasized that preventive measures during the rainy season are crucial to stopping the spread of dengue.

He revealed that 1403 hotspots have been identified and are being regularly monitored by health teams, resulting in the destruction of 56 larvae.

The district has deployed 156 indoor and 100 outdoor teams for dengue monitoring, vector surveillance, and prevention programs. According to the latest data, 1965 suspected cases have been reported, with only one confirmed case having a travel history.
