Deputy Commissioner Peshawar Directs Cleanliness Drive Around Religious Places

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Peshawar, Dr. Imran Hamid Sheikh has directed conducting of special cleanliness drive around religious places, including those of minorities in the district.
He issued these directives to Water Supply and Sanitation Programme (WSSP) after his visit to different religious sites of Peshawar.
He further emphasized that in the wake of upcoming Christmas there should be proper cleanliness around churches in the city. In addition, the DC involved different traders in cleanliness around garbage containers and tasked them to report to his administrative helpline, 1052, if WSSP staff is found absent from duty from 8.00 A.M to 7.00 P.

The DC said that no compromise would be done on cleanliness of the city. He sought help from different shopkeepers in keeping close watch on the WSSP staff deployed on containers.
While talking on the occasion, the DC informed that in accomplishment of the vision of clean &green Peshawar, he has asked WSSP to deploy their staff on permanent basis on garbage containers from 8.00 A.M till 7.00 P.M, so that people may feel considerable improvement in the cleanliness situation of the city.
"Involvement of general public as supervisor of cleanliness drive will bear positive results" Mr. Sheikh added. He further told that he would also be getting feedback from general public in this regard.
