NAWABSHAH, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th May, 2019 ) :The Deputy Commissioner Shaheed Benazirabad, Abrar Ahmed Jaffar has directed all public transporters to act on the fares of public transport fixed by Sindh Government or in other case action would be initiated against those who were found charging passengers above than the fixed fare.

He was addressing representatives of public transport, department of Transport, police and officials of other departments with regard to implementation of charging of fixed fares and removing of CNG cylinders from public transport.

The Deputy Commissioner directed Secretary Regional Transport Authority Shaheed Benazirabad to provide relief to common man through implementing the fixed fares rate specially on Eidul Fitr.

He directed Secretary RTA to check transport running on different routes and cancel the route permits in case found involved in charging fare above than the fixed rate.

He also directed owners of public transport to remove CNG cylinders from the vehicles within the period of one week or face strict actions.

Transporters would face strict legal action in case of violation of the law, he added.

The Deputy Commissioner said that transporters would not be permitted to play with the lives of common man and they shall remove CNG cylinders voluntarily from their vehicles.

He said that Sindh Government on the directives of Supreme Court of Pakistan has imposed ban on use of CNG in public transport and it would be implemented fully.

No transporter would be allowed to go against the law, the Deputy Commissioner warned and directed Traffic Police Officer to immediately act against over speeding vehicles running on city roads.

The meeting was attended by District Secretary Regional Transport Authority Shaheed Benazirabad Saoodur Rehman Jamali, representatives of transporters from different twons of the district and related officials.
