Deputy Mayor Visits Pakistan Stock Exchange

KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 04th Jan, 2017 ) : Deputy Mayor Karachi Dr. Arshad Vohra Wednesday emphasised that better infrastructure and environment would boost trade and commercial activities in the city.
Talking to mediapersons after a meeting with the Deputy Managing Director (DMD) of the pakistan stock exchange (PSX), Haroon Askari, here, he said the business community based in Karachi feels the pain for the city.
He called for political harmony for economic progress of the country. During the meeting, the Deputy Mayor and the psx DMD discussed matters pertaining to PSX and Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC).
The problems of garbage, water and sewerage and parking at the PSX building were noted. The Deputy Mayor Karachi and PSX board agreed that both organisations would act mutually for the betterment of the city.
Afterwards Deputy Mayor Karachi visited the Trading Hall of the PSX and also rung the traditional bell.
Later talking to the media, Dr. Arshad Vohra said he visited the historical building of Pakistan Stock Exchange, which is considered the hub of business activities.
The Deputy Mayor said he discussed with PSX office bearers the matters about betterment of city ways to bring improvement in the civic facilities by taking onboard representatives of business community.
He said the business community also knew the problems and limited resources of the KMC; however "we get these guidelines to work for the progress of city". He expressed the hope that lot of investment would be made in PSX in the days to come.
The Deputy Mayor said work on traffic management was also being done to improve traffic flow on roads. PSX General Manager Sanie Mehmood and directors Abdul Majeed Adam and Ahmed Chinoy were also present. APP/ars/mkm/rn
