The Governor Sindh Imran Ismail has said that progress and prosperity cannot be achieved in the country through personal goals as there is the need of collective efforts with national interest to make the Pakistan a developed country of the world.

"We owe a great deal to our country and all we are enjoying blessings today is because we have a free, independent state our beloved homeland 'Pakistan:, the Governor said and added, " We must also do all in our power and purview to pay back to our sacred country- like all great nations in the world have always done.

The Governor expressed these views while speaking as chief guest at the Vice Chancellor's Excellence Award Ceremony 2017 held at Shaikh Ayaz auditorium of the Faculty of Arts of the varsity to recognize the academic merit of Social Sciences students of the varsity.

The Governor said that he was the first-ever governor who opened Sindh Governor's House to public to whom it essentially belonged. "I feel elated when I see common-folk of the country come visit Sindh Governor's House", he said and added that he felt more delighted when witness them enter and remain in Quid's office, establishing connect with the emotional and spiritual energy and aura of the father of the nation Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the premises so enormously exude.

The Governor said that he himself also mandatorily made a point of being at the place at least once daily to extract vicarious verve of the great Quid.

Narrating how almost every educational institution and general public visited Governor House regularly, the Governor Sindh invited the university students, faculty, officers and community to tour the grand locale encouraging them to be his guests.

The Governor termed the University of Sindh one of the premier-most higher education institutions of the country and appreciated the academic atmosphere of the campus with decent, calm, well-behaved and talented students.

Dr. Fateh Muhammad Burfat in his welcome address shared the exhaustive documentary, detailing important university features adding that around three hundred foreign-qualified PhD teachers have been engaged in imparting knowledge to future builders of the country.

He informed that the university management had introduced biometric in terms of employee roll, online in case of student attendance, ISO- certified in quality domain, leading in winning HEC research project grants and far ahead in university-industry and university- university international linkage initiatives.

The Vice Chancellor Mehran University of Engineering and Technology Prof. Dr Muhammad Aslam Uqaili while felicitating the Vice Chancellor University of Sindh upon successful award ceremony, said that he was happy to note student effort rewarded by the varsity Head.

The Vice Chancellor Sindh Agriculture University Tando Jam Sehrai Muhammad Mujibuddin Memon said hard work never went in vain. He congratulated Dr. Burfat upon organizing an enviable event like the one in question.

The award ceremony included all four year top ten students from the departments of Sociology, Social Work, Public Administration, Media and Communication Studies and International Relations.

The Dean Faculty of Social Sciences Prof. Dr. Naghma Mangiro and Chairmen/ Directors of the awardees departments/ institutes joined the Vice Chancellor in imparting awards.

Chief executive officer (CEO) British school of Etiquette Pakistan Dr. Sadia Javed Rajput also spoke on the occasion.

Earlier, Governor Sindh Imran Ismail also planted a sapling opposite Centre for Physical Education, Health and sports Sciences as a souvenir of his visit to the varsity.

The Pro Vice Chancellors and focal persons of Sindh University of additional campuses, deans, district and divisional administration top-brass, academic heads, faculty, officers, employees and students in large number attended the ceremony.
