DIG Ghulam Rasool Zahid Promoted As AIG Motorway Police

Secretary Ministry of Narcotics Control, Iqbal Mehmood and Inspector General, National Highways and Motorway Police, Dr Syed Kaleem pinned the batches of promotion to the newly promoted Additional IG, Ghulam Rasul Zahid in a ceremony held at NH&MP headquarters here on Monday.
ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Feb, 2018 ) :Secretary Ministry of Narcotics Control, Iqbal Mehmood and Inspector General, National Highways and Motorway Police, Dr Syed Kaleem pinned the batches of promotion to the newly promoted Additional IG, Ghulam Rasul Zahid in a ceremony held at NH&MP headquarters here on Monday.
DIG (HQs) Ishfaq Ahmed, DIG North Zone Abbas Ahsan and other senior officers were also present on the occasion. Secretary Ministry of Narcotics Control, Iqbal Mehmood and IG, Dr Syed Kaleem Imam congratulated the promoted officer.
Additional IG, Ghulam Rasul Zahid has been serving as Deputy Inspector General (Operations), in NH&MP Islamabad. Secretary Ministry of Narcotics Control, Iqbal Mehmood lauded the performance of motorway police for changing the behavior of youngsters.
Speaking to the police officers Inspector General (IG), National Highways and Motorway Police (NH&MP) Dr Syed Kaleem Imam said the success of the Motorway Police is based upon team work and collective efforts and this doctrine is being followed in the successful institutions of the world.
He stressed upon the officers of Motorway Police to behave with the commuters with great respect and courtesy. He said rule of law should be ensured in all respects and no discrimination be made because of any rank or respect.
He further said in 2017, 44% reduction was registered in accidents due to effective policing and road safety education of Motorway Police. The promoted officer Ghulam Rasul Zahid said the National Highways and Motorway Police is committed to serving the commuters and the NH&MP staff is continuously making efforts to ensure safe journey for all road users and provide timely help and support to commuters.
He further said Motorway Police will put every effort to create awareness among the masses about adopting safety measures to avoid any unwanted situation.
