Diplomats Laud Efforts Of KP Archaeology Department For Discovering Historic Sites

Diplomats of various foreign countries have lauded the efforts made by Archaeology Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for discovering historic artifacts of Buddha and ancient architecture sites
HARIPUR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Nov, 2017 ) :Diplomats of various foreign countries have lauded the efforts made by Archaeology Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for discovering historic artifacts of Buddha and ancient architecture sites.
The praise came from the foreign dignitaries who were on visit to Bhamala, archaeological site near Khanpur. The discoveries included 48 feet long part of sleeping Buddha the longest one among those existed in different locations of the world.
Commenting on Buddha site, Defense Attach of Sri Lankan High Commission, Brig. Hemant Bandara thanked Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government for inviting them to the site and providing opportunity to see the 48 feet long rare artifact of Buddha Expressing pleasure over discovering and preserving heritage site at Bhamala, Korean Counselor, Kim Ing Ko said witnessing ancient relics would help us to understand centuries old civilization of the region.
Briefing visitors about historic remains, Nawaz ud Din, Research Officer of Peshawar Museum told that Bhamala area is a part of Taxila civilization and remained one of the central places of worship for followers of Budh religion.
He informed that UNICEF has declared the area as World Heritage Site. Speaker KP Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, Asad Qaisar, MPA, Faisal Zaman, PTI leaders including Yousaf Ayub Khan and Dr. Raja Amir Zaman were also present on the occasion.
